Gleaners Food Bank is honored by our community's willingness to donate and support the food bank through food drives, monetary gifts and volunteer efforts. While we are unable to post all the activities of our generous supporters, this page will hopefully reflect the direversity and commitment to feeding the hungry.

In addition to the 6,710 lbs of donations your generosity made possible through the constant canned food drive, Green B.E.A.N. Delivery also provided Gleaners Food Bank in Indianapolis with an additional 1,000 lbs of fresh produce to make up a supply shortage for local food pantries. The 5lb sacks of russet potatoes will be delivered to families in need across 21 central and southeastern counties in Indiana and. Each year, more than 267,000 Hoosiers avoid hunger thanks to the great work of Gleaners and the more than 400 hunger relief agencies they support. We are proud to do our part to help increase the amount fresh produce at their disposal.

Many thanks to the Fayette County Foundation who recently donated $10,000 to Gleaners Food Bank in support of the local BackSacks Weekend Food For Kids program. Fayette County has highest level of child food insecurity in Indiana, with one out of every three children living in a household with low food security. Taste of the NFL at Gleaners on Feb. 4th!

Taste of the NFL, a non-profit organization dedicated to kicking hunger in America for more than 21 years, brought its annual fundraiser to Indianapolis on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012—the eve of Super Bowl XLVI.  The strolling food and wine event, appropriately dubbed “The Party with a Purpose,®” took place at Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana, the first time in history the event wsa held at a food bank location. Funds from the event will benefit not only Gleaners Food Bank but all Feeding America member food banks with NFL teams in their city across the nation. Click HERE for more photos of the event!
