The Indy Hi-Winders have been supporting Gleaners Food Bank since 2003, raising over $3,200 in funds to help fight hunger in central Indiana. Great Job!

2008 Special Events!

An event to remember! On April 23rd, "Taste of Indianapolis" was hosted by Indianapolis Monthly and presented by Clarian North Medical Center to benefit Gleaners Food Bank. Over 350 patrons enjoyed samples from over 30 of Indy’s finest restaurants and had a spectacular time! Special Thanks to everyone who attended and to Indianapolis Monthly and Clarian North Medical Center for all their time and efforts to put on this memorable event to help Gleaners Food Bank fight hunger.

Participating restaurants included: 120 West Market Fresh Grill, Bazbeaux Pizza, Famous Dave's Legendary Pit, Bar-B-Que, Hellas Café, Kelties, Kona Jack's Fish Market & Sushi Bar, Mitchell's Fish Market, Mudsocks Grill & Oakley's Bistro along with many more!

Inspired by God's gifts and nature's bounty, Indianapolis religious, educational and art institutions have come together to raise public consciousness and address the problem of hunger. The bountiful bowl is our symbol of caring and sustenance. Artists will create original artworks that express their interpretation of the bountiful bowl. These works will be publicly displayed and auctioned with the proceeds provided to Gleaners Food Bank. No hungry person should have an empty bowl. We invite all artists to participate in this event by submitting a bowl as we imagine a world without hunger.

Deadline to confirm participation and submit application is August 1, 2008. Artwork needs to be delivered to Beth-El Zedeck no later than October 2, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. Donated artwork will be displayed in the community October 13 – November 12 and will be auctioned off at an event on November 13.
