Cans of foodFrom individuals and organizations

Gleaners is grateful for the food and critical grocery items that come from more than 400 companies and organizations, and from hundreds of individuals.

They donate items ranging from meat, fresh produce, dairy products, beverages and frozen foods to canned vegetables, cereals, personal care products and diapers.

These items are donated because companies want to help Hoosiers in need.  The products are donated for many reasons including surplus, mislabeling, upcoming code-expiration dates, production errors, discontinued inventory and slight damage.

We receive contributions from both local and national sources. Several national corporations donate through Feeding America, the nation’s food bank network.

Major local contributors include:

  • The Kroger Company
  • Marsh Supermarkets
  • Crossroad Farms
  • Nabisco Brands, Inc.
  • Pepsi-Cola Company
  • Frito Lay
  • Conagra
  • Walmart
  • The Quaker Company
  • Caito Foods
  • Harlan Bakery
  • Wayne Dairy

Whether it comes from near or far, from organizations or individuals, Gleaners appreciates everyone’s contributions to aid in the fight against hunger.
