Relief efforts for southern Indiana:
Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana is working to provide cleaning supplies and water to the counties affected by the tornados as a part of the disaster relief system already in place throughout Feeding America’s food bank network to assist those in our state affected by natural disasters.
Throughout the coming days and weeks, Gleaners Food Bank will continue to support the entire affected area through the Feeding America disaster relief system and also provide additional support to the 3 Gleaners Food Bank service area counties directly associated with the disaster.
In Ripley, Scott, and Jefferson counties, Gleaners Food Bank will be providing additional support to our partner food pantries as well as send mobile food pantries to those communities.
At this time Gleaners Food Bank is accepting food donations for this relief effort and more importantly, cleaning supplies. The food bank has been called upon to procure, ship and distribute designated items. Donations can be dropped off at the food bank Monday through Friday between 8am-4pm at the volunteer entrance or at dock door #12 for palleted items.
If you would like to make a monetary donation to Gleaners Food Bank to support these efforts, please indicate “southern Indiana disaster relief” on your check or money order or in the comment section located on the Online Giving form.
