Krystle M.

Emma playing in Rachel’s Corner, the children’s play area at Gleaners.

This is only my second time coming to Gleaners. I’ve been working at a temporary agency, but when that position was over, I got let go. It seems like too many people are applying for too few permanent jobs. It’s too expensive to send Emma to preschool. I don’t want to get on food stamps because then I can’t really get a good job. Food and utilities are the big expenses after our $675 rent. I’m supporting my mom, who is disabled. I would like to go to work full-time.
