Did you know that 20% of those we serve are military families or veterans? That’s nearly 50,000 Hoosiers.
In fact, at our CARE mobile pantries we saw a 33% increase in the number of military veterans served this past summer alone.
Statistics show that just 50% of veterans returning from active duty who need mental health services will receive them. Untreated, depression and PTSD can lead to job loss, a break up of families, substance abuse and suicide. While not a direct result of military service, hunger is a symptom of depression and a factor in the additional stress faced by those who have served.
Please join us in making a tribute gift to a veteran who has served so honorably. Help us keep mobile pantries stocked and on the road delivering food to those in need.
