Why Partner with Gleaners?
Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana is the largest food bank and hunger relief charity in the state, serving 1/3 of the 1 million Hoosiers vulnerable to food insecurity.
In addition to food distribution to hunger relief agencies, Gleaners also operates Fresh Connect Central, 1 of 7 regional produce cooperatives for Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger relief organization. We are also a disaster relief staging site for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the contract reclamation site for Kroger Central Division.

Financial support is of course the most immediate and direct way to make an impact. For every dollar donated, we can provide up to eight meals for Hoosiers in need. The efforts and generosity of our partners and their corporate giving initiatives have significantly enhanced Gleaners Food Bank hunger-relief efforts.
Through our extensive network of hunger-relief agencies (including local food pantries, soup kitchens, schools & community partners), we are able cater our approach to serve a wide spectrum of neighbors including families, children, seniors and other individuals at risk of hunger. Some of our programs that address hunger in our 21-county service area include our Community Cupboard, SNAP Outreach, Youth Programs, Mobile Pantries, Nutrition Outreach, Home Delivery, Gleaners2Go and more.
Event Sponsorship
We have a variety of sponsorship and engagement opportunities including our Indianapolis Business Hunger and Health Breakfast. In October 2024, we launched our new signature fundraising event, Gleaners’ Huddle Against Hunger, sponsored by the Indianapolis Colts! More information to come for 2025, including sponsorship packages and event tickets.
For each volunteer hour, we can provide 130 meals for Hungry Hoosiers. We need approximately 300 volunteers a week to maintain our distribution. Volunteering is a great opportunity for team building for your corporate team or group. Consider using our board conference room for your next event or meeting and pairing it with a volunteer shift.
Our Virtual Food Drive is a representational shopping platform that demonstrates Gleaners’ buying power vs. retail prices. You can register as an individual or start a team. Feeling competitive? Challenge your co-workers or rival departments and see who can raise the most!
Each year billions pounds of food goes to waste from manufacturing facilities, retail grocers, farmers, agri processors and emerging retailers. You can elevate your brand, send a positive message to your consumers and join the fight to end hunger by donating your unsellable product.
