Free winter items line the tables at the resource fair

Our neighbors showed up in a big way to attend a health & essentials resource fair, hosted by Gleaners and community partners. The fair featured free doctor’s visits on Gennesaret Free Clinics’ mobile medical unit, SNAP application assistance from Gleaners’ outreach staff, free winter items for kids and adults, free flu and COVID shots, plus several other services.

Path4You offered education about birth control access for women, and Indiana WIC was on hand to provide application information.

More than 300 families came out to receive toiletry items and hygiene kits, along with winter coats, hats, scarves and boots for all ages. Take a look at photos from the resource fair below:

We’d like to give a special thank you to the other organizations that partnered with us to bring this event to the community: Gennesaret Free Clinics, Purdue University Center for Health Equity and Innovation, PATH4YOU, Indiana WIC, and Under the Weather Charity.

Gennesaret’s mobile medical unit is onsite each Wednesday from 8:30-11:30 a.m., giving neighbors access to free healthcare — no insurance necessary. Gleaners’ outreach staff is available to explain SNAP eligibility and can help neighbors complete an application or re-certification over the phone. To get help, call 317-644-1280 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., or fill out a form here.
