Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana is proud to announce it has been named to Inc.’s 2025 Best Workplaces list, honoring companies that have built exceptional workplaces and cultures that support their teams and their mission.
“Perhaps it shouldn’t be a surprise that an organization whose mission is ‘to be a leader in the fight against hunger’ is considered a great place to work,” said Fred Glass, President and CEO. “It is a great testament, however, to the exceptional people who do extraordinary work every day, with joy and love for people facing hunger.”
Each year, Inc. conducts a comprehensive evaluation of organizations and nonprofits, creating a list that recognizes those organizations that have created exceptional workplaces and culture. The award process involved a detailed employee survey conducted by Quantum Workplace, covering categories such as management effectiveness, professional development, and overall company culture. Each company’s benefits were also audited to determine overall score and ranking. Gleaners is honored to be included among the 514 companies recognized nationwide this year.
Melissa Hill, Chief Administrative Officer at Gleaners, says that having the right culture has helped Gleaners with hiring and retention. “We clearly state during the recruitment process that we have a culture of collaboration and teamwork, and we point to our values that note that we put people facing hunger first and value our employees as we work to be a leader in the fight against hunger,” she said. “Our people fully buy in and commit themselves to the neighbors we serve every day.”
“Inc.’s Best Workplaces program celebrates the exceptional organizations whose workplace cultures address their employees’ welfare and needs in meaningful ways,” says Bonny Ghosh, editorial director at Inc. “As companies expand and adapt to changing economic forces, maintaining such a culture is no small feat. Yet these honorees have not only achieved it—they continue to elevate the employee experience through thoughtful benefits, engagement, and a deep commitment to their teams.”
