“I deliver a box of food to a homebound senior who is raising her teenage granddaughters and is currently recuperating from heart surgery. The woman did not want to have her grandkids come to the pantry and was embarrassed to take the help. It took some convincing but we were able to leave the box and promised to keep coming as long as they needed the extra help. There are so many seniors struggling with health issues keeping them from accessing food like they should. We should all check on our neighbors and offer to be there or find resources for them if possible.” – J.R. Wooden Middle School
