Traffic volunteers

It takes a lot of volunteers to make our drive-thru pantry happen each day, but traffic volunteers are especially important in making sure everything runs smoothly. We’re looking for a few more volunteers to help direct traffic and answer questions for our neighbors on the following shifts each week:

Wednesdays: 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. or 12:30-4 p.m.
Thursdays, 4:30-8 p.m.

This project does require being outdoors, but we’ll provide equipment like hand warmers, raincoats, and warming stations for your convenience.

Email Christina Basey at [email protected] if you’re interested in being a traffic volunteer.

Winter coat drive with Gennesaret Free Clinics

This season,  help families in need by donating new or gently used coats, gloves, scarves, or winter hats from now until Dec. 4.

There are two ways to donate:

  • Bring your donations with you to your next volunteer shift.
  • Drop donations off at Volunteer Central (door 5) at Gleaners during business hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m.  – 4 p.m.)

Volunteer of the Month: Pat Harwell

As a registration volunteer since 2017, Pat has been a friendly and familiar face for our neighbors for many years. To date, Pat has put in more than 1,500 hours of service. And she does it all with awesome style!

Pat originally got involved with Gleaners after retiring from the medical field with a desire to continue to help people all across the community. She loves being a registration volunteer because she gets to interact directly with our neighbors, who are so grateful and appreciative of the services they receive. We are excited to recognize Pat for all her hard work!
